Healthy Improvements

This is a follow-up to my post “Getting in Shape.”

I had my assessments done yesterday with my “personal trainer.”

To check my VO2 max (the volume of oxygen you can consume while exercising at your maximum capacity): four weeks ago, I walked one mile, in just under 18 minutes, heart rate was 138. Yesterday, I walked one mile in 15 minutes, heart rate was 148.

Flexibility test (using a tool to measure how far I can reach while sitting with feet flexed): four weeks ago I reached about 2 inches. Yesterday, I reached 7 1/4 inches.

Wow! It is so encouraging to see some measurable results. I feel stronger and healthier after just 4 weeks. Now, I need to stay motivated and continue the journey.
